Step 1: Calculate Your Number of Dancers Use this simple formula: Guest Count ÷ 2 = Number of Dancers At most weddings, corporate events, and galas, about half of the guests will be dancing at any given time. This might seem low, but some guests will be resting, chatting, or visiting the bar or restroom. Once you have your total guest count, divide it by 2 to estimate how many people will be on the dance floor simultaneously. Step 2: Choose a Dance Floor Size Use the chart below to match your number of dancers to the recommended dance floor size: Guest Count Dance Floor Size Estimated Dancers 50 Guests 9' x 12' (36 Dancers) 100 Guests 9' x 21' (63 Dancers) 150 Guests 15' x 18' (90 Dancers) 250 Guests 18' x 21' (126 Dancers) 300 Guests 21' x 24' (168 Dancers) General Sizing Recommendations For guest counts smaller than 50 or larger than 300, we recommend following the general rule of thumb above to size your dance floor.
